|
This is a high-tech office building. It consists of offices for different departments, research centers, computer centers, parking and 250 people conference hall. The building has 6 levels above ground and 4 levels underground.

Brief Description
|
The library collection has a capacity for 2.5 million books, with current storage of 840,000 volumes in the library, including a priceless collection of more than 140,000 rare Chinese books dating back to the Sung Dynasty (960-1279 A.D.)
The library seats up to 2,300 patrons in its reading and research rooms and has office space for 250 staff members. Prominent features of the building include a 560-seat lecture hall, a 250-seat international conference hall, a 5,400 sq.ft. educational exhibition hall, and cultural activity rooms that can accommodate a total of 1,650 persons.
A computer catalog system is in use and a behind-the-scenes "rail system" shuttles books to different floors for reshelving.
The building is designed to withstand stress from earthquake tremors and typhoon conditions. There are eight levels, six above grade and two below grade. The building is clad in a fabricated, reddish stone tile topped by a hammered concrete banding.
6 story shylighted atrium is designed to be the focal point of all reading areas.

The police section consists of an office, roll call dispatcher, 3 holding cells with booking offices. The building is approximately 19,000 S. F.

Brief Description
|
Next to the existing Recreation Complex Building, the outdoor Ice Rink is designed to convert into a multi-purpose recreational area during the summer months. As required by the program, a tension structure was introduced to the project in order to create a focal point for the park. 900 seat concrete bleachers were provided.

The program calls for 32,000 S.F. gallery space for permanent collection and temporary exibition, an 800 seat performance hall and a 200 people lecture hall, library, studios, and other supporting areas. A traditional Korean Garden shall be incorporated in the complex.
